Canton

Canton, now known as Guangzhou, is the capital of the southern Guangdong province in China. It was one of the original 5 Treaty Ports opened by the Treaty of Nanjing in 1842. The city of Canton was heavily involved in the Xinhai Revolution in 1911 and the Second Revolution in 1913 and was the headquarters of the Chinese Revolutionary Party during the Third Revolution in 1917. It was one of the largest Treaty Ports, along with Hong Kong and Shanghai.

The Treaty Port in Canton was in operation from 1842 until 30 November, 1922.
